New appearance of Baburam and Hishila

BABBLES

By Babbler

When Baburam Bhattarai reached the Maitighar Mandala to express solidarity with the demonstrators demanding strong punishment against culprits involved in the fake refugee scam, the crowd was agitated against him.

“Balkrishna Khand, Manju Khand, and Top Bahadur are the new appearances of Baburam and Hishila Yemi,” the crowd chanted.

“You sent your daughter to the USA to study and killed our brothers and sisters”, they blamed Baburam Bhattarai.

PM Dahal going to India

Many times, we read news about PM Pushpakamal Dahal’s India sojourn. When is he visiting India (for presenting a letter of credence to his Indian bosses), we are yet to know the confirmed date.

Exhibiting his slavery mentality, PM Dahal, the day when he became the Prime Minister with the support of the UML, had given an interview to an Indian television network that too in the Hindi language, had expressed the commitment that he will put his first leg on India before he will start his foreign trip.

There is no meaning to such commitment except for demonstrating his loyalty to India.

When Delhi showed reluctance in inviting PM Dahal, he missed the opportunity to visit the Boao Forum in China and also the LDC summit in Qatar.

PM Dahal is keenly waiting for his Delhi visit. He has kept impending his Beijing visit saying that after India, he will visit China.

Let’s hope, PM Dahal will have a “landmark” visit to Delhi!

Civil Society again in the streets

The present Police operation on the fake refugee scam has been conducted under the pressure of the alien invisible power.

Such invisible power is very strong in Nepal. We saw many anomalies that took place under the direct involvement of the top political leaders of big parties but we didn’t see the “civil society”. Again, to put pressure on the government to investigate and punish the culprits, the very “civil society” has been seen in the streets.

Be that as it may, this Babbler believes, this time, the protest of the “civil society” is for a good cause.

Playing with the future of youths

To what extent the government-run universities and colleges have been politicized we can see in Nepal. Partisan politics and political appointments based on share among the major parties have totally spoiled the educational sector.

A recent example is that the students in the Ratna Rajya Campus in Kathmandu became the victim of the wrong result due to the mistake of the examiners. Examination for the same subject is not the subject to be given again and again but when the examiners make a mistake, the future of those students has been permanently spoiled. The mistake committed by the examiners was giving less marks than the marks obtained by the students in the internal assessment.

Who is to take responsibility for such negligence?

QUOTES OF THE WEEK

Two weeks ago, just ahead of World Press Freedom Day, President Biden told an audience of journalists:

“Tonight, our message is this: Journalism is not a crime.”

Julian Assange has not committed any crime. Hence Biden administration must drop charges against him.

Dhruba H. Adhikary

The case of fake refugees is a fraud, human trafficking, organized crime and corruption, especially treason. Treason should be prosecuted against those who knowingly deceive the citizens and bring the country into international disrepute. Deputy prime minister, home minister, home secretary – no matter who they are — they should prove equal in the eyes of the law.

Bishnu Rijal

A human trafficking case has shaken this secular opportunist loktanrtik republic to its core, and it is left to collapse. The leadership of power has become like holding a bear’s ear, which can neither be freed nor held. It has also brought other scandals to the surface. Now it is impossible to cover these scams. This is the result of India’s unprincipled, unethical and unnatural 12-point agreement.

Anar Singh Karki

Nepali people suffered a lot from Nepali eagles and also from foreign eagles.

Rajani Shrestha

All of us who gather on the streets (for media shows) to protest against corruption by hurting others and protecting own people and blaming other parties by protecting own party are the efforts made for public consumption. It holds no meaning. Something could be expected if a storm of people’s movement was initiated.

Ramesh Kandel

There is a terrible trade deficit, ordinary expenses have not been maintained and there left no funds for development investment and the government is about to declare bankruptcy.

Instead of writing this and that in the new fiscal year’s budget, it is enough to write that the government is going to manage salaries, allowances and facilities of the employees in the huge three layers of structures through revenue and debts.

Babulal Bhandari

The Bhutanese people who were taken by America are being sent back to Nepal by giving them green cards. They come here and the boy marry to a Nepali girl and the girl to a Nepali boy. This number has reached hundreds. Bhutanese Americans who marry in this way will be entitled to become Nepali citizens as soon as the proposed citizenship bill is approved. This is just an example that how foreigners are entering into Nepal.

Bharat Dahal

Attention should also be paid to constitutional bodies such as abuse of authority and courts. Madhab Nepal is involved in the Lalitanivas case, and Baburam Bhattarai is involved in the 132 ropanis of Matatirtha land scam. Let the CIAA and court decide the impending cases of scams there as soon as possible.

Arjun Gyawali

To free the country from the chaotic gangs, the youths must now step forward. The youths should be able to protest such corruption cases and take the corruption culprits to jail by taking support from the Army.

Ram Kumar Panday

The threat to this loktantra and the republic comes from those who brought the present system.

Chitra Bahadur KC

Corruption is the root of all evil. We can’t at all tolerate corruption. A corruption-free nation can only develop the nation.
