PM Dahal spends four and a half months just expanding cabinet, inauguration and giving speeches

By Our Reporter

It has been four months since Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda was appointed the Prime Minister. But in four months, the PM has spent most of his time expanding the cabinet, inaugurating tiny programmes and attending formal functions.

Last week, he expanded the Cabinet for the 10th time inducting one new minister and changing the portfolio of a sitting minister.

If anything important work done by the PM in the last four and a half months was it is the recommendation of Hari Krishna Karki through the Constitutional Council for the post of the Chief Justice. No other works he performed over the months are mentioned worthy.

Surprisingly, he has been managing time to attend at least half a dozen events a day. He reaches any part of the country to address a function, to inaugurate conferences, anniversaries and workshops. While travelling to and fro to address or attend one function after another, the PM has also managed time to hold cabinet meetings, grace musical programmes, hold meetings with major party leaders, inaugurate schools and so on.

When he spends most of the time outside his Singha Durbar Office, he has probably not been able to manage time for developing policies, finding government flaws and missing programmes to address the woes of the people.
