Kathmandu, 13 April: Anjan Shrestha has been elected unopposed as the Senior Vice President of the Federation of Nepali Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI). He became Senior Vice President after the first round of elections did not yield any results, while the second round of elections was being prepared, an agreement was reached to elect the senior vice president unopposed.
Anjan Shrestha, Umesh Lal Shrestha and Ramchandra Shanghai, who were vying for the post of Senior Vice Presidents, and none of the candidates in the first phase of the election could get 51 percent of the votes, Shanghai and Shrestha agreed to leave the post to Anjan.
According to the provision of the FNCCI that the senior vice president will automatically become the president for the next term, Chandra Prasad Dhakal will be the President of the FNCCI from today onwards.
