Stability not possible in absence of appropriate political system: Former King Gyanendra

Kathmandu, 3 April: Former King Gyanendra, addressing commoners attending the assembly for felicitating him in Inarwa, Sunsari District, this afternoon, said that stability is not possible in the country in absence of appropriate political system, peace and discipline in the society. 

Former King Gyanendra and some members of the Royal family had reached Inarwa to attend the civic reception assembly organized in honour of him today. 

Extending thanks to the organizers and people gathered there, the former King admired their concern for national interests and the aspirations of the people. 

“We extend our hearty thanks for the concerns expressed by you”, said the King and commended their patriotism. 

He said that efforts are on for fragmentation of our society by influencing different groups through cash and posts, among others, and urged for strengthening nationalism, national unity, national pride, national indivisibility, sovereignty and independence. 

Finally, the former King remarked that raw and surficial change in the name of an offensive move will not give fruitful results.

Thousands of people gathered in Inarwa expressing their belief in the institution of monarchy.
