Babbles

By Babbler
Our former presidents, VPs and former prime ministers have become white elephants for the nation.
First president Dr Rambaran Yadav and former prime minister Jhalanath Khanal have received millions of rupees for their treatment. The government has decided to pay monthly one hundred thousand rupees as house maintenance expenditure besides other allowances and facilities to outgoing president Bidya Devi Bhandari.
The country’s economic scenario is very bleak. All the economic indicators are gone negative. The revenue received through imports of goods and revenue obtained from other sources is not enough to pay salaries for the civil servicemen. The country is dependent on foreign and local debts to meet the yearly expenditure.
Many people are unable to manage two-time meals but the government is spending a hefty amount on medical and other allowances for those retired political personalities. Such allowances will continue until their demise. Every year, the expenditure on retired dignitaries is increasing. In fact, they have become white elephants. Unfortunately, the political system we are practising is solely responsible for ruining the nation from all sectors.
When Gagan Thapa sepaks
Just recently, Gagan Thapa had forecast that the K.P. Sharma Oli-led alliance would dissolve along with the presidential election. It became true, although, he is not a fortune teller. Sure, he was able to forecast as he was a close camp member of Deli developing the new plan for Nepal.
Dr Baburam Bhattarai’s plight
We all know that Baburam Bhattarai, Krishna Shitaula, and Amrish Kumar Singh are Delhi’s men who represent India more than Nepal and Nepali people.
They all were close to RAW but not the RAW under the present BJP’s Modi-ruled RAW.
Shyam Sharan, SD Muni, and Ranjeet Rae they all belong to the old RAW, therefore, they have been sidelined for the time being. Bhattarai, Shitaula and Singh have also been cornered, otherwise, Delhi’s choice could be Shitaula as the presidential candidate this time.
C.R. Raut reveals
C.K. Raut, chair, Janamat Party, has revealed that he attended dozens of meetings of the partners in the government alliance. They spent time just sharing posts but never discussed the country’s development and the general public’s problems.
He has concluded that the political parties are just for sharing power. This Babbler also agrees with Raut’s revelation. What can we expect from the political leaders who are practicing loot-tantra!
Resham Chaudhari’s bottom line
Resham Chaudhari has put forward the following demands for casting vote for the presidential candidate from the nine-party alliance:
His wife Ranjita should get the deputy prime minister and minister for urban development portfolio; One more state minister in the federal government and power sharing in the Sudur Paschim provincial government; changing the name of Sudur Paschim into Khaptad-Tharuhat and the government led by the Nagarik Unmukti Party; declaring Tikapur a separate district.
This is the beauty of the present “loktantra”!
QUOTES OF THE WEEK
- The resumption of two-way cargo transportation and transit at historical Purang/Pulan Port from 1 March is set to “deepen” China-Nepal economic and trade exchanges, a critical exchange point for colonial geopolitically locked Nepal.
Upendra Gautam
- The king can never be the property of any individual monarchist.
The institution of monarchy is common to all and it is above partisan politics.
Those who challenge the king to open a party should understand that he will not be a king if he does so.
Dipak Gyawali
- By accepting the names given by the king, using the halls and palaces built by the king, and ruining the country protected by the king, the scoundrels are still spreading the “illusion” of change! This is their “ability” and also their “identity”.
Jayantanath Khanal
- If K.P. Oli had a belief in religion, he would have nominated Jeevram Aashrit’s wife as the candidate for the president’s post. Pushpakamal Dahal would have named Pashang if he had not received an order from India.
India-friendly Ramchandra, MaKuNe, Prachanda and brother Congress have come together. Now Biharis are sure to become Nepalis. The people of Tarai will be deprived of obtaining citizenship but those Indian Biharis will be privileged.
Prem Singh Basnyat, PhD
* In the current state of the country, not caring about the existence of the king is also a big mistake. With the harmony of the two powers, the chariot of the country moves forward, the development work can be done on a national basis, and international respect for the nation increases.
B.P. Koirala
* In the past, the presidential candidate Ramchandra Paudel presented the citizenship amendment bill as an economic bill in the parliament and got it approved, but King Birendra rejected it and sent it to the judiciary for opinion and the judiciary rejected the bill. Maybe, the new President does not dare to take such an unpleasant decision alike King Birendra!
Rameshwar Shrestha
- A president is more expensive than a monarchy. One president is produced every 5 years. As long as they live, Nepali people may become beggars while feeding the former president and his family.
Sarbesh Aryal
- Despite repeatedly informing about the possible unimaginable crisis in Nepal’s agricultural sector, the decision-making body has not paid attention to it. If we continue like this, there is a high probability of famine in the country within a few years. Save your own seeds. Promote self-sufficient agriculture in every way.
Bishnu Raj Upreti
- Search the market and increase the consumption of electricity within the country.
Our per-person electricity consumption is 300kWh, which is the lowest in South Asia. India’s per-person consumption rate is 1200 kWh. Let’s give up the idea of exporting electricity until we reach that consumption level.
Dipak Gyawali
- Oh, Government! Don’t compel for consuming poisonous vegetables to the citizens with fear a neighbour becoming angry!
RajendraLingden
- Actions needed to save the country from economic crisis:
Dissolve the National Assembly; dissolve the provinces; cut down all types of allowances; remove all the “deputy” posts; people’s representatives and employees must use public transport; remove allowances for private secretaries, house rent and vehicle allowances.
