With the formation of the new alliance of the eight parties, CPN-UML and Rastriya Prajatantra Party quit the federal government.
All eight ministers representing the CPN (UML) in the Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ led government have resigned from the post.
They submitted resignations before Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ on Monday afternoon.
Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel, Foreign Affairs minister Dr Bimala Rai Paudyal, Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation minister Rajendra Kumar Rai, Industry, Commerce and Supplies Minister Damodar Bhandari, Health and Population Minister Padam Giri, Women, Children and Senior Citizens Minister Bhagawati Chaudhari, Defence Minister Hari Prasad Upreti and Agriculture and Livestock Development Minister Jwala Kumari Sah were inducted in the government from the CPN-UML.
Earlier on Saturday, four ministers from the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) had resigned from their posts.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Rajendra Lingden, Minister for Urban Development Bikram Pandey, Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Dhruba Bahadur Pradhan and State Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Deepak Bahadur Singh resigned from the posts. However, the UML did not quit the Bagmati Province Government and the RPP Province-1 government.
It is believed that the formation of the new coalition became a good excuse for the RPP to quit the government because King Gyanendra was not happy with the RPP for joining the government.
