A Nepali Youth Raghu Dahal (Raj), who lives in the United Kingdom, has been a symbolic inspiration for all the Nepali youths struggling to make something better for the sake of society and country. Leaving one’s own country for quality education and career navigation is not an easy task and an open-heart decision. As everyone is patriotic genetically though there are obligations and exceptions for leaving the nation due to lack of quality education and career as well as the national, political and socio-economic condition of the country.

Renowned as a successful entrepreneur Dahal is running Taj Mahal Lounge since 2021 in London for almost 20 years with Chitwan as his permanent home. They serve Nepali, Indian and Chinese dishes with 5-Star hygiene rating freshly cooked items on a customer basis structure. There are crowds of guests experiencing South-East-Asian cuisines. As a student enrolled in the UK, he has collected a lot of experience working in various companies after his graduation. In the same way, he made effort to organize many musical and other events in the UK with Nepali actors and actresses. As an established person in the UK, he has also helped Nepalese language classes for the young diaspora of Nepalese kids.

Additionally, he has a remarkable involvement in various local community and charity organizations to promote tourism in Nepal. He has been helping all the new Nepali students who want a stable settlement in the UK. Moreover, during the gigantic earthquake in Nepal, he gave his hands as a volunteer in response to the earthquake.

Further, he requests Nepalis and Indians to promote their country’s dishes to their foreign friends. Dahal says that since this Buffet Lounge was opened by forming a group of experienced and skilled employees, every visitor has been expressing satisfaction and happiness. He claims that the restaurant can serve about 200 guests at a time. Dahal, who opened the restaurant lounge with an investment of about 30 million Nepali rupees, is also involved in many other businesses.

Dahal also mentions that there is a plan to open a branch of Taj Mahal Lounge in Nepal as well in near future. He has previously invested in hydropower, education, health, communication, agriculture, and other sectors in Nepal. He is currently the senior vice president of Chitwan Aid Trust (CAT). He has been helping the poor and needy students from lower-socio-economic communities in Nepal and from time to time he has contributed to other social supports. In the same way, he is planning to establish an aid project focusing on Nepali and United Kingdom’s cancer-infected kids soon.

A self-made entrepreneur Dahal, who wanted and tried to do social service along with his business back in Nepal, said that he had to go abroad again after completing his education and returning back to Nepal too, because of the state system in Nepal. Dahal, who believes in democracy and is also a member of Nepal’s political family, emphasized that many reforms are needed in Nepal’s government functioning and political situation to create a better business and entrepreneurial environment for interested vendors and national as well as international investors.
