Sorry state of foreign trade

Kathmandu, 24 January: The country is facing a heavy trade deficit despite the government’s efforts for discouraging imports and encouraging exports. 

The recent report released by the Customs Department has identified Nepal as a consumer country. 

Every month, the country’s imports are above 130 billion rupees, whereas exports are nominal. 

In the past six months, the country’ imported goods worth 792 billion rupees and exported goods worth 80 billion 800 million rupees.
