Nepal has become the playground for foreign powers. The Nepali political leaders of the day are solely responsible for making Nepal a playground for foreigners. Just recently, Nepali Congress leader Bimalendra Nidhi concluded his visit to Delhi. Currently, NC president and former prime minister Sher Bahadur Deuba’s wife – who is bridging Nepal with the Indo-West lobby – is in Delhi. Nepali leaders are found visiting the doors of the Indian leaders and power centres in Delhi, including the RAW officials for getting their blessings to enjoy power in Nepal.
The Indo-West lobby monitoring Nepali politics could not guess that Maoist Center supremo Pushpakamal Dahal Prachanda would join hands with UML chair K.P. Sharma Oli overnight. They assumed that their blue-eyed boy Sher Bahadur Deuba would become the PM following the 20 November election result. Also, they claimed the presidential position for the NC so that MCC and SPP could move forward without any obstacles. When surprisingly, Prachanda became the new Prime Minister with the support of the UML, it became very odd and indigestible for the Indo-West lobby. Again, this strong lobby involved in micro-management in Nepal developed a new conspiracy theory. Overnight, NC, by forgetting the role of the main opposition party, came to support Prachanda on the vote of confidence motion. Now, Prachanda is talking about paying back something to the Nepali Congress for its cooperation with him. Prachanda, as per the Indo-West design, wants to support the presidential candidate from the NC, meanwhile, creating a dispute with his present coalition partner K.P. Sharma Oli. Understandably, the Indo-West plan is to corner Oli’s dominating role in the government. Prachanda is a cunning and clever player. Even being the third largest force in parliament, he has been able to become the prime minister of the country. Now, again, by cornering Oli, he wants to continue in power for the full tenure of the present parliament, that is, five years. Prachanda wants to support the NC candidate for the post of president and create a distance with Oli developing closeness with Deuba, which is in the interest of the present active foreign players.
India believes that Nepal is its protected nation. Until the existence of the institution of monarchy, the Indian mission could not become successful. Hence, the institution of monarchy was abolished in the country. The Indo-American alliance, thus far, has been developed with a greater mission of handing over the authority to look after Nepal to India with the responsibility for containing China through a joint effort. The MCC or SPP projects are also in the interests of India or say developing infrastructure for transmitting Nepal’s electricity to India through the construction of powerful transmission lines. A section of Nepali political leaders and intellectuals are distributing the dreams of the prosperity of Nepal by exporting Nepali electricity to India at a very cheap price by discarding the reality of consuming electricity by local industries. Nepal will become prosperous only if the domestic consumption of electricity can be increased.
The slavery mentality of our leaders can be judged by their wish to make the first leg to India. On Saturday, going out of context, Prime Minister Pushpakamal Dahal Prachanda conveyed the message to Delhi by saying to a small group of media men that he will make his first visit to Delhi. This is the message and this is the mentality of our leaders. Ultimately, the leaders are provoking the Chinese for their presence in the Nepali playground by giving unnecessary priority to the Indo-West powers against China.
