The Nepali Embassy in the US said in a statement that its vehicle was vandalized and looted by unidentified people while returning from Houston to Washington at 12:03 local time on Friday, December 23.
This kind of robbery in broad daylight is known in the US as a “zero-dollars purchase.” In recent years, “zero-dollar purchase” has prevailed and is outspread in the US. The US is a gun-toting society, together with economic recession, social welfare and security decline, “zero-dollar purchase” occurs almost in every city. Well, now, even the foreign mission.
It is interesting to note that the Nepali Embassy in the US received a “zero-dollar purchase”, while Nepal received a big gift package of MCC from the US. Looking around, this particular turn of events seems very suspicious.
Let us here review a basic principle of international politics: Hegemons seek to turn outward if they have intractable internal conflicts. Thus, when zero-dollar purchase spreads within the US, it will push its “zero-dollar purchase” abroad, in other words, it will commit itself to destabilising and harvesting other countries. This is the logic of world hegemony. It doesn’t seem esoteric, does it?
MCC, the “gift package” was sent by the US, and we received it hesitantly. The gift package is not regulated, or audited by the Nepalese government, and is not subject to Nepalese law, which means we don’t know exactly what it contains. I hope MCC is not coming to Nepal for a “zero-dollar purchase”.
