EC to  Prime Minister’s Office: Furnish  clarification within 24-hours

Kathmandu, 18 October: The Election Commission (EC) has sought clarification from the Office of the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers within 24 hours whether the government has taken any far-reaching decision, after the code of conduct came into enforcement.

“A letter has been written by the EC to draw the attention of the Office of the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers as it various social media and OnlineKhabr.com reported that it has taken a far-reaching decision violating the norms of a care taker government.

Whether the government passed new policies and programs ? If the new policy program was passed without the consent of the EC, why not take action against the relevant officials for violating the code of conduct? The commission has instructed the Prime Minister’s Office to answer these questions by Wednesday.
