Kathmandu, 14 October: The government has extended the import ban period on four luxury items until 15 December.
The previously declared date for banning the import of these items is going to expire today, meanwhile, the government extended the tenure until 15 December.
Imports on bike above 150 CC, four-wheelers, liquor and smartphones above 300 US dollars have been restricted till 15 December.
After a negative balance payment and a decline in the foreign currency reserve, the government banned imports of 20 items, however, of late, it has restricted imports of only four items.
