Jhalanath announces to contest poll from Ilam-1

By Our Reporter

Senior leader of the CPN (Unified Socialist) and former Prime Minister Jhalnath Khanal has announced that he will contest his last election to the House of Representatives from Ilam Constituency-1.

Talking to reporters at the Gautam Buddha International Airport in Bhairahawa on Sunday, Khanal said that he would be contesting the upcoming election from the five-party coalition.

Khanal also expressed his confidence that he would win the election.

He further ruled out the possibility of alliance and unity with the CPN-UML immediately.

Khanal said that currently, they were close to the CPN-Maoist Centre.

However, NC leaders and voters in Ilam are not happy with Khanal after he forged alliance with the CPN-UML during the election of the district coordination committee in May this year.
