Prachanda’s wish

BABBLES

By Babbler

After his return from Delhi and after the ratification of the citizenship amendment bill from both the Houses, Maoist Center supremo Pushpakamal Dahal expressed his desire to become the prime minister of Nepal once again.

Prachanda has claimed that after the federal parliament elections, he is going to lead the government.

When Prachanda and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba’s wife Dr Arju Rana were in Delhi, a rumour surfaced that an agreement was made in Delhi for leading the government by Prachanda and his deputy will be Arju Rana. Both the Nepali leaders were in Delhi possibly for the electoral alliance and formation of a coalition government led by Prachanda.

No odd, Delhi has become the capital of the republic Nepal. Therefore, Arju, in the name of medical treatment, is visiting Delhi frequently. Prachanda visited Delhi immediately after he met with the foreign department chief of the Communist Party of China.

It was speculated that Prachanda could have visited Delhi for first-hand reporting about his meeting with the Chinese leader.

Be that as it may, our leaders have given authority for micro-management to the Indian leaders and Indian intelligence officials.

Prachanda has already become the prime minister of Nepal two times. He was unable to do any special thing for Nepal during his tenure as the executive chief. What should we expect from him even if he becomes the prime minister for the third time — except for taking care of his family members, practising nepotism, favouritism, and sycophancy?

Clean chit!

The Parliamentary probe committee gave a clean chit to Janardan Sharma. It was a planned act of the five-party alliance government. It is also believed that the main opposition party UML had also a “give and take” deal in providing a clean chit to Sharma.

More importantly, Sharma, immediately after getting a clean chit, again returned to the finance ministry. How keen and hurry were Prachanda and Deuba for assigning Sharma as the finance minister when Deuba has kept vacant the post of the defence minister for months!

Although Sharma received a clean chit, nobody is ready to believe that he didn’t manipulate the budget!

Presently, people are in deep sleep. They will not sleep forever. When they wake up, a disastrous storm can be expected!

MPs’ tenure

The present constitution is a document of dilemmas as it is written by a team of political leaders led by Baburam Bhattarai. If it was written by constitutional experts, such chaos could have been addressed.

Presently, the speaker and MPs are trying to define the tenure of the members of Parliament. Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota claimed that the tenure of the MPs will expire only after the nomination of candidature. All the MPs have become happy about this. However, constitutional experts believe that along with announcing the election date, the present parliament will be dissolved. They have asked the Speaker to study the practices in foreign countries practising parliamentarian democracy. Nowhere in the world, the MPs would contest elections by remaining in power, they have argued.

Maybe, it is possible in the Nepali loot-tantra!

QUOTES OF THE WEEK

  • Janardhan Sharma’s comeback as finance minister confirmed two things. They are: Corruption continues at the highest levels, politically and shamelessly; the ruling class does not care about public opinion or public pressure!

Jainendra Jeevan

  • Wasn’t there another parliamentarian who could become finance minister? How could the government and the parliament have been able to create such an ugly farce to cover up the shame and crime of a person? Deep regret to the government, parliament and related parties!

Bhimarjun Acharya

  • The re-appointment of Janardan Sharma as the finance minister is an act of indifference towards national crimes. In our society, there is a legal arrangement to strictly punish theft/robbery. But the return of Sharma, who committed serious crimes in the nation, is a mockery of democracy. Can anything be done in democracy?

Gururaj Ghimire

  • This is a cruel joke Prime Minister Deuba and Prachanda have played on the Nepali people – the reinstatement of the disgraced finance minister Janadran Sharma.

They have told Nepali people: Public opinions do not matter to us. We are above that!

Akhilesh Upadhyay

  • PM Sher Bahadur Deuba and MC’s chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal have sent the dead body of ‘Loktantra” not Janardan Sharma to the Finance Ministry! Let’s pay tribute to the dead body of “loktantra”!

Muma Ram Khanal

  • Why didn’t the parliamentary probe committee take a statement from a former Ministry staffer, the main accused person in the budget scam case? Why didn’t the committee investigate the call details of Finance Minister Janardanaji’s mobile phone?

Laxman Ghimire

  • Dissatisfaction towards Congress is increasing in the public mind. Who will remove the veil of illusion and arrogance that they will go to the elections by making one after another unpleasant decisions and join hands with the Maoists to win the election? Why are they destroying the faith of the people? What will the people who believe in democracy do now?

Bhanu Prasad Acharya

  • There is no need to do anything to ruin the country economically. Just destroy what you have today, it’s enough to spoil. The present coalition is doing the same now.

Bishnu Rimal

  • Will the country be made by the leadership who are enjoying commission through the betel nuts setting? These dealers cannot be leaders anymore!

Rajesh Ahiraj

  • The restoration of the monarchy has become indispensable for the survival of Nepal. Otherwise, external attacks and civil wars in the country cannot be stopped. Nepal should not become the story of once upon a time!

Dr Rambhakta Thakur

  • The Guth members had woken up against the Guthi Bill, now all the citizens of Nepal should wake up against the random distribution of citizenship. Otherwise, we will fall into a demographic invasion.

Dhruba H. Adhikary

  • King Birendra used to say that only Nepalis have the right to become citizens of Nepal. He said that Nepal should make the final decision about Nepal’s natural resources. He made many plans to secure the future of the independent, indivisible and sovereign nation Nepal.

Pankaj Chand ‘Nigam’

  • Nepalis are the stupidest people in the world. America looks after America’s interests, India cares about India’s interests, and China cares about China’s interests. Those who are in the government and opposition of Nepal will look at the interests of America, India and China instead of the interests of Nepal!

Ram Shrestha

  • Politics without principles, ethics and accountability is pointless and harmful. After a big controversy about the finance minister in the budget, it is not proper to make him the finance minister again. This increases the suspicion of an unethical alliance between PM Deuba and the finance minister.
