
Kathmandu, 16 June: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, who had given green signals for inking the State Partnership Programme (SPP) between the Nepal Army and the US Army, has stepped back from inking the deal after the Nepal Army refuted it.
The Nepal Army, issuing a statement, has said that it has not inked any deal on SPP. Earlier, the American embassy here had claimed that Nepal was included in the SPP upon Nepal’s request, which the Nepal Army has refuted and said that it has not signed the SPP deal and will not sign such a controversial deal in future also.
