BABBLES

It seems the republic day is just for those who are in power as general public are found reluctant in celebrating the “historical event”!
Moreover, our intellactuals who use social networking outlets have denounced the event as a black day. Perhaps, those who are advocating for the republic day have also understood the ground reality better!
What about the commission rate?
The government has increased salary of the civil servicemen by 15 percent. It was announced in the budget for new fiscal year 2022-23.
It is okay that the civil servicemen may enjoy a better life, but what about the commission and corruption rate? Has it also been increased by 15 percent or more?
The budget
The budget presented by Finance Minister Janardan Sharma seems similar to the budget of a lower class Nepali family that expenditure is confirmed but income is uncertain.
It is sure, the budget has not been introduced to implement properly. It is sure, the general sector expenditure is fixed and it can meet from the revenue but there left no fund to invest in infrastructural development. This is an example of a budget with the regressive characteristics.
Reducing general expenditure
Clearly, those in the government cannot speak against the present political system. Nevertheless, they have understood that the present federalism has become more expensive that our budget cannot burden the increased expenses in the name of federalism.
It is clear that the provincial structures were unable to justify their significance. If the provincial structures will be scrapped, the government can save a big sum of fund that could spent for infrastructural development.
Are we ready to do so?
Old is not gold every time!
If the aircraft is old, passengers are at risk; if the leaders are old, the nation is at risk!
Old is not gold every time!
QUOTES OF THE WEEK
- Ours is just a democratic republic run by sleepwalkers and with every political change, only people are punished.
Keshav P. Bhattarai
- The Parliament of landlocked Nepal should be able to prioritize 4 things for sustainable infrastructure development, no law should stop it!
- Construction of a full-fledged mega airport; 2. Indigenous investment on reservoir model mega hydro project; 3. Highway (4 lanes, 6 lanes, 8 lanes); 4. Operation of the electric bullet rail.
Panta Nava Raj
- Your ganatantra (republicanism) has turned into a loottantra!
Rajesh Mishra
- It is not possible to say without looking at the written text of the judges who ruled the court order not to build Nijgadh airport is right or wrong. But what would happen if the international airport was built on 833 bighas of land presently owned by the Birgunj Sugar Mills in Simara? Neither the trees will be cut down nor the forest will disappear! It is also possible by expanding the airport in Simara. Why are they saying Nijgadh, Nijgadh, Nijgadh? Is there a land game?
Madhav Paudel
- The orientation of the Simara Airport is north to the south. Landing and take-off are not possible without using the Indian sky. Nijgadh is the only place where the aircraft can take off and land from within the Nepali sky. That is not possible at Simara Airport. Nijgad was chosen only after many studies and research. It is necessary to build Nijgadh Airport to make Nepal self-reliant.
Ananta Bahadur Gurung
- Jesth 15 or 29 May is the black day for the Nepalis!
Dirgha Raj Prasai
- The local elections have given a clear indication of how the monarchy can be restored.
How the foundation of the republic is strengthened is also clearly shown!
But if the foundation of the republic will become strong, Nepal’s existence will fall under threat within the next 4/5 years.
Mani Raj Satyal
- Heathrow Airport’s third runway project had to demolish 761 concrete houses, relocate a large portion of the Ring Road, and divert the river, which was cleared by a British high court. This is the difference between a rich country and a poor country! I considered Nijgadh airport to be the future of the country. I’m disappointed with the Court’s verdict!
Former director general of CAAN
- Our country is becoming a corrupt leader producing country, not an agricultural nation!
Rajendra Lingden
- These leaders are saying that democracy has been achieved by removing the king. However, the truth that we the people and the world understand is that loktantra (democracy) is about accountability, transparency and a sense of responsibility. Without accountability, that is not loktantra.
Ananda Ram Paudel
- Every time we hear the news of an aircraft accident, we follow the same vicious circle: First: SADNESS; Second: ANGER; Third: ACCEPTANCE; and Fourth: FORGET.
Are we going to track in the same vicious circle or are we going to break that chain?
Shristi Kafle
- It is an irony that the Maoists who boycotted the Nepali dress Dhaka cap and Daura-Surwal are asking the citizens for using domestic products and wearing Nepali dresses!
