Kathmandu, 26 May: The Supreme Court has overturned all decisions made by the government so far regarding the proposed construction of an international airport at Nijgadh in Bara. A full bench of the apex court on Thursday directed the government to look for an alternative to Nijgadh if Nepal needs another international airport.
A full bench of Supreme Court Justices Harikrishna Karki, Bishwambhar Prasad Shrestha, Ishwar Prasad Khatiwada, Prakash Man Singh Raut and Manoj Kumar Sharma, in a writ petition filed by senior advocates Prakash Mani Sharma and Ranjuhjur Pandey, reversed the government’s decision to build an airport in Nijgadh.
