On the occasion of the reunification of three RPPs, Kamal Thapa had expressed the commitment for not splitting the party anymore by touching the holy Hindu book Geeta.
Very soon, he forgot his commitment and rushed to open a new shop by sacrificing his belief in the institution of monarchy. After his humiliating defeat in the party election to the post of the party chairman, overnight, he became a republican. Thapa is known as the power greedy leader and he had time and again split the party just for the post.
Kamal Thapa, a footballer, started his political career from the student organization supporting the then Panchayat system — Rashtrabadi Swatantra Vidhyarthi Mandal. Thapa, with the blessing of the Royal Palace, became the president of the pro-Panchayat student organization. After completing his tenure in the student organization, he was elected the chair of the Nepal Youth Organisation, which too with the blessing of the Palace. He became minister for communications and later minister for home affairs with the sole blessing from the Palace. Thapa is the lucky guy who didn’t need to look back during the heydays of the monarchy.
When Thapa declared himself as a pro-republican, it became a big laugh. Nevertheless, he has finally exhibited his love for power and opportunism. When he was defeated in the election by Rajendra Lingden, he blamed the Palace for his defeat.
Finally, he has opened a new shop for reinstatement of the Hindu nation without a monarchy. In fact, he had wished to become chairman of the Rashtriya Prajatantra Party forever, however, he was not committed to reinstatement of the Hindu Kingdom. So far, the Hindu followers believe, Thapa is a dishonest guy. Be that as it may, let’s hope, he would remain the chairman of the party forever!
Rose for the Valentines’ Day
Until some years ago, we didn’t hear about Valentines’ Day. Now, this has become a festival being observed for a week in Nepal.
It’s okay, however, the sad part is that when the nation’s treasury is almost empty of the foreign currency reserve. The Nepal Rastra Bank has issued a list of items discouraging their imports. But to observe Valentines’ Day, rose flowers worth 10 million rupees were imported from abRroad! Great lovers!
