Chinese people around the globe are celebrating the Lunar New Year, the year of Tiger, with the family reunion, joys and festivities. This festival is deeply rooted in Chinese society for thousands of years and has a similar socio-cultural ethos of Dashain in Nepal like the family reunion, blessings of the seniors, home decoration and savoured together. Beijing is hosting the Winter Olympic together with the festival this year.
Nepal and China enjoy time-tested relations in cultural, economic, political and social fields. The good-neighbourly symbiotic relations are nurtured at the best of the interest of both the people for thousands of years. China remained a trusted friend of Nepal in weal and woes!
On the eve of this momentous occasion may I wish Chinese friends success in their march towards camaraderie, peace, happiness and prosperity!
