The recent elections for 11 seats in the National Assembly including one reserved for women have by all accounts had been a revealing experience.
On the face of its five seats, including one for women went to the Nepali Congress four to the UML and two to the RPP.
Among the surprise that the elections come up with was the fact that while UML’s official candidate did not secure a single vote, RPP’s Rajeshwor Devkota was not only saved from an ignominious defeat but was hoisted to the National Assembly with the help of UML support.
