Reports state that the general public spent seven billion rupees just for PCR tests. The PCR test is not free for the general public and the private sector is charging Rs. 2000 per test and Rs. 3000 for providing PCR test service at home. The PCR test for the VIPs including the President, VP, Prime Minister, ministers, MPs is free.
Political leaders always laud for socialism but we can see, socialism has come just for them, not for all!
What is Madhesh Pradesh?
Finally, the No 1 Province has found the name of the province and the capital city. Still, the No 1 Province is unable to get a name.
So far, the provincial leaders have already proved that the provincial mechanism is irrelevant in the Nepali context. The provinces have become the venue for corruption and bad governance instead of delivering services to the people and development of the provinces.
The two Tarai-based parties had proposed the name Madhesh Pradesh, which has been rectified by the Provincial Assembly, however, it is irrelevant. There is no historical relevance to this name. Other political parties had proposed Mithila, Janaki, and other names which were related to the history, culture, language, and religion of the province. No odd, Baburam Bhattarai is happy with the rectification of the name Madhesh from the provincial council.
The No 1 province is also facing the same problem. The province is rich in geography, culture, and tradition. But some leaders are trying to impose a name representing a section of the community in the province.
Federalism with seven provinces was introduced to make the nation weak both financially and geographically. No more than that!
The capability of the government organs!
The “loktantrik” governments are not able to operate the railway on the track constructed by the foreigners. Therefore, the rail is stuck for around one and a half years.
The government is unable to run a Dharamshala (guest houses constructed specially for the pilgrimages). Therefore, the government, by instructing the concerned trust, is handing over them to the businessmen to operate luxury hotels.
The Batas Group is found capturing one after another Dharamshala and a restaurant inside the Narayanhitty Royal Palace.
Maybe, the Batas Group is needed to run the rails in Nepal!
And the dry port…
The dry port constructed at Chhobhar, Kathmandu, was completed months ago, yet, it has not come into operation due to the indecision of the government. There are many incomplete construction projects but those completed projects have remained non-operational! And, this is the beauty of “loktantra”!
