Black era or golden era?

BABBLES

By Babbler

The present-day leaders chose to define the 1 Pous move by King Mahendra as the black day and the entire period of the panchayat raj as the black era. Yes, we know, the mainstream media is under the control of different political parties and the journalists are practising to see any event through the glass of the concerned political party with which they belong to.

However, today, although black-out by the mainstream media, the commoners have the outlet that is social networks. During 1 Pous, the social networks were flooded with words commending the late King Mahendra for his visionary leadership.

It seemed that the Panchayat raj was the black era only for those cheaters, looters, traitors and foreign agents but for the commoners, that was the real golden era!

A confusion

This scribe is confused about the definition of “regressive” and “offensive”, which we are practising to listen almost daily from the mouth of those political leaders.

We see anomalies in all the sectors. Is this thus “offensiveness”?

Yesteryears, we saw a better life for the commoners compared to the present day. Was that thus “regressiveness”?

Should we place rampant corruption, rampant commission, daylight loot, mal-governance, anarchism performed by the political leaders, match-fixing in the court, etc under the category of offensiveness?

Those forgotten heroes!

The month Pous is important for the patriotic Nepalis as on 1 Pous, King Mahendra introduced the Panchayat system, which gave the right course to the country. Earlier, Nepal was a country but King Mahendra gave it the shape of a modern Nepal. Although criticized and forgotten by the present-day corrupt leaders, commoners have evaluated him as the hero who built present Nepal.

King Prithivi Narayan Shah the Great is the unifier of modern Nepal. His birth anniversary falls on 27 Pous. Earlier, the government used to observe his birth anniversary as the national unity day recalling his contribution to the formation of present Nepal.

The present loktantrik governments are happy to announce a national holiday on Christmas Day but they don’t want to listen about the founding father of Nepal and announce a national holiday!

One can easily guess, there are foreign agents in the governments!

King Birendra’s birth anniversary falls on 14 Pous. He was the most patriotic, development-oriented and democratic monarch. The communist parties don’t forget to remember and observe the birth anniversary of Karl Marx and Lenin but they are unable to recall the contribution of King Birendra to the nation!

Let’s know about thieves

A simple thief can steal your money, bag, watch, and jewellery but a political thief steals your future, your personality, your education, your health and your very existence.

The funny thing is, if a common thief chooses who to rob, you choose a political thief to rob yourself. Because we choose them and we vote for them.

We close our eyes and say we are not blind – who is really cheating on whom? On the whole, the ridiculous thing is that we fight thieves to protect our goods from ordinary thieves, and we fight together to save political thieves. Isn’t that what we do?

Thus thugs (violent groups/individuals) fight on their own to protect those who steal our personality, steal our happiness, steal our health, steal our success. What a shame! What an irony!
