What next for RPP? Will Kamal Thapa open a new party?
Former chairman of Rashtriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Kamal Thapa is yet to overcome the shocking defeat in the recently held general convention.
He was defeated by Rajendra Lingden, but he is still unable to digest the defeat and has been blaming one after another for his legal exit from the party leadership.
Thapa, who accused former king Gyanendra of intervening in the convention and defeating him immediately after his defeat. Now he has put forth impossible demands with newly elected party chair Lingden that the latter should probe whether the Nirmal Niwas had its hand in the outcome of the convention results.
His unusual activities after the conclusion of the convention have worried the leaders, cadres and well-wishers of the party whether he will again break the party because he had already earned a bad name in the breaking party.
Although he had once sworn by touching the Gita that he would never break the party, many within and outside the party suspect him.
While Thapa has not been able to accept the defeat, new party chair Lingden is trying to bring back all dissident leaders on board so that the issues of the Hindu Kingdom could be pushed more effectively.
He is said to be taking an initiative to develop a greater front of pro-Hindu Kingdom groups to realize the political ideology of the party and his promises.
