Kathmandu, 20 October: The post Monsoon rains started on Saturday afternoon have claimed the death of 48 people and 31 are still missing, according to the Home Ministry report by noon today.
The National Emergency Action Mobilization Center under the Home Ministry has stated that the continuous rains have seriously affected the Western and Eastern parts of the country.
Among those missing, 23 people from the Bajhang district alone.
Likewise, 23 persons have been injured from the natural disaster.
Doti, Humla, Batadi, Panchthar, Ilam, Dhankuta, Udayapur, Sunsari, Piyuthan, Dadeldhura, Kalikot, Kanchanpur, Bajhang, Bardiya, Kailali, Morang districts have been affected by the floods and landslides.
The offseason rains have also destroyed paddy farming on a large scale.
