Kathmandu, 7 October: Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba and senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel were engaged in a hot debate over the issue of active membership in the ruling Nepali Congress Party. Deuba and Poudel had an altercation in Baluwatar on Wednesday.
Senior leader Poudel, General Secretary Shashank Koirala and former General Secretary Prakash Man Singh had urged Deuba to resolve the dispute of active membership in Rautahat and Sarlahi. They urged to end the dispute earliest as possible as the cadres are staging hunger strike even on the eve of the Dasain festival.
The strikers may become sick while staging hunger strike on clod floor, Poudel had remarked.
In reply, Deuba had said that if they become sick, let you carry them to the hospital.
Poudel, Singh and Koirala had become fire from such a reply by Deuba.
