The market price of daily consumable goods has been skyrocketed. There is no visible presence of the government and there is no clarification from the government on why the price has been skyrocketed!
Not odd, this is the government of those black marketers and brokers and the government is looking after the benefit and welfare of those brokers.
The Nepali population had condemned the previous government led by K.P. Sharma Oli for working in the interests of the commission agents, more than that, the present government is involved in policy-based corruption. The cabinet of ministers decides in the interests of those brokers and commission agents. Nevertheless, the politicians don’t forget to laud “socialism”.
Along with nearing the Dasain festival, the government has opened some fair price shops but very few items are being sold there.
Notably, those leaders of the day say the Panchayat democracy was an autocratic system but the then government had run such fair price shops in every ward and not only aimed at the Dasain festival but for round the year.
BRB in favour of money laundering
Former prime minister Baburam Bhattarai has opined that whatever be the source of property — whether it is black or white — such property should be invested for nation-building and creating employment opportunities for the people.
Finance Minister Janardan Sharma has assured that the source of income won’t be needed for investment in the infrastructure sector. It is speculated that the Maoists had looted banks during the insurgency period. The notes are kept in jute bags, it is said. Sharma has allowed those Maoists to make white the money looted during the insurgency era!
Otherwise, the erstwhile government had once decided to remove all the paper notes with the King’s image. Later, after protest from the Maoist leaders, the decision was scrapped by the government as all the notes looted by the Maoists were printed with the king’s image.
Be that as it may, let’s see, how the international donor community, who are serious about money laundering, will react to the present decision!
Imported vegetables!
Nepal has imported vegetables worth 8 billion 360 million rupees in two months.
Unfortunately, local farmers were unable to sell vegetables worth 16 billion 720 million rupees grown by them within the country. Imported vegetables are substituting locally produced vegetables and discouraging local farmers. When the government brokers for commission, the country will become dependent in all sectors.
Why express sorrow on the inclining trend of the trade deficit when the rulers are contributing for the same?
Quotes of the Week
In the case of the ordinance on political parties, the government seems to have misused the constitutional provision in a shameful manner. It is not only shameful but also worrying that those who removed the previous government by accusing it of bypassing the parliament are practising the same.

None of the approaches, principles, policies, values and concepts applied here is in the Nepali interests. It is necessary to uproot this state system and move Nepal forward based on fundamental thinking.
Bharat Dahal
Neo-people’s proletariat, multi-party people’s proletariat, Maoism, communism, constituent assembly, federalism, secularism, and republicanism are just the words of the looters who are trying to confuse the country and the people and loot them. When they have been failed in all sectors, now they have started to chant the slogan of “socialism”!
Shambhu Chouhan
Why did the foreign-backed republicans remove the king? The answer is clear that the king did not sell religion to the foreigners, did not sell the borders of the country, did not sell the rivers, did not sell the industries and did not sell the citizenship.
APA Nepal
At present, both the policy and leadership of the Nepali Congress are bad.
Lokesh Dhakal
Let’s not cultivate the illusion that we are making Nepal like a foreign country, which is not of Nepali origin! Let’s make Nepal like Nepal. Go ahead in the campaign of Nepal’s renaissance! Be proud to be Nepali!

One of the issues that have not been discussed in the MCC agreement is the liberalization/privatization of the power sector. Probably some energy traders could have been planning to exploit it, thus far, they are trying to rectify MCC in as-it-is terms and conditions.
Strengthening trade by weakening the nation will not work in the end!

It is illegal to kill female quadrupeds in Nepal. The civil movement demands that cows should be slaughtered.
Exactly 6 years ago, the very faces were putting pressure on India for tightening the economic blockade on Nepal and now are lobbying for cow slaughter!

What do you mean by friendly countries? If I have billion dollars with me, you mean I will give millions of dollars to the friends who are 10,000 miles away?
That’s bullshit, my friend, nations don’t have a romantic relationship, they have interests. Think about our interests, not others!
Him Nepali
India had sponsored Baburam’s education; India gave arms to the Maoists; India trained the Maoists; India gave safe shelter to the Maoists; India played the game to fight and to reconcile us;
Nepal had to face the murder of 17,000 people and losses worth billions of rupees and should we call India a friendly country? India is a neighbour, not a friend.
Pradip Bhattarai
Now, bidding for the new ambassadorial position is going to be started in a hurry! My two words: “Please don’t insult Nepal in the international platform by appointing political workers as the ambassador, please appoint career diplomats in the foreign ministry to the post of ambassador.
