Kathmandu, 11 September: CPN (Maoist Centre) Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), can be taken forward only on the basis of national consensus. Stating that there are various disputes and confusions regarding MCC, he said they were of the view that some issues of the MCC Compact should be amended.
During a meeting with MCC Vice President Fatema Sumar, Dahal said that his party was clear the MCC should be taken ahead only on the basis of consensus among the political parties of Nepal. He clearly stated his party’s stand that forging a common understanding among their five-party alliance was imperative to endorse the MCC Compact.
