Pakistanis in Nepal celebrate Independence Day

Kathmandu, 15 August: On the occasion of the 75th Independence Day of Pakistan, a flag hoisting ceremony was held at Embassy of Pakistan. Charge d`Affaires, Adnan Javed Khan hoisted the flag. Due to Covid-19 pandemic only Embassy’s Officers & Officials attended the ceremony. Messages of President, Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan were read out. Addressing the flag hoisting ceremony Charge d`Affaires Adnan Javed Khan recalled the history of Pakistan movement under the leadership of Quaid-iAzam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. Referring to the Jammu Kashmir dispute, the Charge d`Affaires said that resolution of this long outstanding dispute in accordance with the wishes of the people and the UN resolutions would complete the agenda of the partition.

In the evening, the Embassy in collaboration with Nepal-Pakistan Friendship and Cultural Association (NPFCA) organized a reception to celebrate 75th Independence Day of Pakistan. Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun graced the function as the chief guest. Speaking at the occasion, he recollected the deepness of Nepal-Pakistan friendly relations and praised the support of Pakistan in Nepal’s development endeavors.
