Prachanda focuses on election

Kathmandu, 14 August: Maoist Center chair Pushpakamal Dahal Prachanda has said that a joint election front between the communists and the democrats will be developed to contest the upcoming elections.

As the government has to hold the elections of the local bodies by April next year, Prachanda has disclosed the plan of developing a joint front aimed at the elections.

Addressing the central committee meeting of the Maoist Center today, Prachanda hinted that the present alliance between the NC and the communist parties will continue till the three layers of elections – local, provincial, and federal parliament — are held.

Moreover, the party has decided to hold its national convention beginning from 26 December.

Prachanda, addressing the central committee meeting today, also informed that he has wished to amend the party statute to forge an alliance with other communist parties.
