Justifying K.P. Oli’s decision

BABBLES

By Babbler

What miracle has happened since the court-assigned Sher Bahadur Deuba as the Prime Minister of the country? In around one month of his assignment to the post of the PM, Deuba is unable to give complete shape to his cabinet. He has not been able to announce the government’s plan and programme except from the common minimum programme introduced by the high-level task force!

Oli went and Deuba came but the government can fall into minority anytime. Instead of functioning a weak and non-performing government, a fresh election was better for the nation. Can the Supreme Court justify its decision of amendment of the constitution?

Again Kulman Ghishing

Again, the government is planning to assign Kuman Ghishing as the chief of the Nepal Electricity Authority. Ghishing has already completed one term as the chief of NEA. But he is interested to continue the post again. According to some informal sources, he is even ready to pay a huge amount of money to Pushpakamal Dahal Prachanda in advance. Therefore, Prachanda had put pressure on the then prime minister K.P. Sharma Oli to assign Ghising as the NEA chief.

Ghishing is the officer who had effectively managed to end load-shedding. However, this Babbler has become suspicious when he was ready to pay in advance a huge amount of commission to get the same job again!

The secret of ending load shedding

The secret is that Nepal had ended load-shedding, especially during the winter season by importing above 60 percent of the electricity needed for the country from India. In the name of ending load-shedding also, we were sending money to India, although, Nepal has a huge potential of generating electricity.

If the Budhigandaki like reservoir model multiple projects were constructed, we would not have needed to import electricity from India even during the dry season.

Nepal can construct and complete such a cheap project through its own investment, unfortunately, we have the leaders who are happy to import electricity from India as there is an attractive amount of commission.

Is electricity free of cost?:

Minister for Energy, Pamppha Bhushal is busy drafting a plan to provide electricity to those poor people free of cost. This sounds very attractive but in reality, it is impossible. Yes, the government can supply electricity to those poor people at nominal tariff but if it will be supplied free of cost, misuse of electricity will be rampant, which the government cannot control.

Lal-Nepal comrade!

The Nepali Congressmen greet each other saying “Jaya Nepal”. Similarly, the communists greet each other saying “Lal Salam”. When there is a government led by the Nepali Congress but strongly dominated by the communists, now, they may greet each other saying “Lal Nepal”!

Quotes of the Week

Sher Bahadur Deuba is in no hurry. Because he did not win the election but won the lottery from the Supreme Court and became the Prime Minister taking benefit of the conflict between the communists.

The Council of Ministers has not been taken final shape for one month. In such a state of the epidemic, a dose of vaccine, a ventilator and ICU were not added for a month, the government did not make any of its policies public.

Bishnu Rijal

The country’s oldest daily newspaper Gorkhapatra is running in ad hoc style.

What message will be spread elsewhere?

The General Manager, Editor-in-Chief, all are working at the “officiating” status.

What if the readers too become “officiating” only!

Dhruba H. Adhikary

Whether the existing laws, the constitution, the parliament, the government, the constitutional organs are not enough, so that the alliance partners in the government planning to create a high-level political mechanism! It is extra-constitutional.

Leaders have to abandon the idea that they were superior to the law, the constitution, state bodies or anyone else.

Bhimarjun Acharya

It is wrong and objectionable to include the issue of ‘bringing local bodies under the provincial government.

Local bodies should be made more resourceful and empowered by abolishing the burdensome states for the nation. Strong local autonomy is the backbone of democracy.

Kamal Thapa

After 2063 BS, an agreement has been reached against the internal autonomy of Nepal’s politics. Through the 12-point Delhi agreement, the leaders here have invited the Indians and through the Indians, the Westerners were invited.

Those foreign powers have imposed federalism, secularism and republicanism by keeping aloof Nepali people.

Now, we are waiting to listen that the King should not be given a space, however, as Shyam Sharan is unemployed for a long time, space should be given to him!
