On/Off the Record

Those loktantra-wallahs, or say, those practising loot-tantra, don’t want to listen to any democratic practices, although, they always talk about democracy or say loktantra.
When Rabindra Mishra, chair, Bibeksheel Sajha Party and Mahesh Basnet, UML’s youth leaders floated the idea of a referendum on religion and federalism, they have been labelled as regressive elements by those looters who have been empowered through the 12-point Delhi agreement.
In present federal, republic secular Nepal, we have been practised to watch many odd things. Today, the Court is dictating the President to appoint an individual as the prime minister of the country giving a deadline by devaluing the existence of the House of Representatives. Instead of condemning such a funny decision, a section of people in society apprises the court decision. When a prime minister talks about the fresh mandate, it becomes a crime and the prime minister, executive chef of the government is being challenged for being the agent of the regressive element.
When someone floats the idea of a referendum on controversial issues in the constitution such as secularism, federalism, and republicanism, a section of people becomes active to condemn such an idea. Today it has become an open secret that under the Indo-West design and through the 12-point Delhi agreement, federalism, secularism, and republicanism were imposed in Nepal. However, the present Indian establishment has realized that the imposition of the Western agenda in Nepal was a serious mistake.
It has already been exposed that the Maoist Center and other seven political parties were carrying the Indo-West agenda, which has already been failed in Nepal. When someone comes to speak the truth, an organised group, including a section of media or say those people who are being hired by the foreigners launch the campaign to defame them. They are none other than the foreigners sponsored media, self-declared civil-society members and those who are occupying senior-most posts in the political parties, such as, Baburam Bhattarai, Pushpakamal Dahal Prachanda, Upendra Yadav, Madhav Kumar Nepal, and their followers.
Those political leaders have developed a syndicate and constituted a high-level mechanism to run the government, in other words, to exploit the country by sharing power – providing political appointments to their relatives and sycophants and rewarding those who offer commission in advance.
Today, the educational institutions, health sector, civil service, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, foreign policy, good governance, all these important organs and mechanisms have been destroyed. A group of leaders select a prime minister from among them and turn by turn under the syndicate system they rule the country. Along with the assignment of the new prime minister, the entire lot of civil servicemen, ambassadors, officials in the educational and health institutions will be changed. Outgoing prime minister K.P. Sharma Oli had recruited his men in those positions and now the new coalition government led by Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba is planning to recruit his and other partners’ men or those who pay commission in advance in such organs by dismissing those who were recruited by the outgoing prime minister. Such a rotation is continuing for the last three decades since we adopted the multiparty democracy in the country. Already, the multiparty democracy had ruined the country. Furthermore, in the name of “great historical achievement”, federalism, secularism and republicanism were introduced in the country by incorporating the Maoist party in a decade long insurgency. This system too further ruined the country, which we have been witnessing. Finally, the nation is on the path of becoming a failed state, even though, the political leaders are continuing to loot the country. The need of the hour is to minimize the government expenditure but the government is intended to take foreign loans to feed the political employees. Along with the federal government, the provincial governments are also engaged in the power battle. Now, the federal government is planning to assign its men as the provincial chiefs and also form the government by toppling down the existing governments there. The major duty of the political parties has become to capture power at any cost. Their contribution to national prosperity is meaningless. Moreover, the same scenario has been witnessed inside the political parties. Either it is the ruling Nepali Congress or its ally Janata Samajbadi Party, or the opposition party UML, the tussle between different factions continues. UML and JSP are on the verge of a split, so far, the Maoist Center is seen under the command of Prachanda until now. Those who could be the challenge for Prachanda, have already quit the party as they saw Prachanda’s cunning strategy for hanging on the top position permanently.
The second-generation leaders in all the parties have not been able to challenge the octogenarian leaders who are becoming the prime minister again and again. The present prime minister has established the record of enjoying the very post for the fifth time. There is the anarchism of the party leaders within the party, accordingly, the government is practising anarchism. Unfortunately, we say it is a democracy.
Such a scenario is not odd if the educated young generation accepts anarchism and totalitarian regime in the name of lok-tantra!
