Kathmandu, 3 August: An interim order issued by the Supreme Court against the decision of the CPN-UML to expel four of its members in Karnali provincial assembly has been abrogated.
The four PA members had been expelled by the party for crossing the floor against the whip issued by the party. The interim order issued earlier by the single bench of Prakash Singh Raut was scrapped by a joint bench of Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher Rana and justice Prakash Dhungana on Monday.
CPN-UML Chair KP Sharma Oli had filed a petition at the apex court, along with a vacate application calling for annulment of the interim order. Oli had argued that the 10th national general convention organizing committee was constituted as per the decision of the central committee of the party, and hence the organizing committee was official executive committee to act against the PA members, disobeying the whip of the party.
