Kathmandu, 31 July: Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) Chairperson Mahantha Thakur registered a writ petition against the Election Commission’s recent decision to give party legitimacy to another chair Upendra Yadav-led faction.
In a writ petition filed at the Supreme Court (SC), Chairperson Thakur demanded annulment of the decisions to grant party legitimacy to Yadav side and allow them to register a new party. He also demanded the apex court to issue an interim order to stay implementation of EC’s decisions until and unless the writ petition is settled.
