Kathmandu, 26 July: The Upendra Yadav led faction in the Janata Samajbadi Party has presented 34 executive members of the party in favour of his faction before the Election Commission.
Out of 51 executive members in the party, 34 members have sided with Yadav confirming the necessary majority to get recognition from the Commission following the constitution.
Both the Yadav faction and Mahantha Thakur faction were claiming that they bag support of the majority executive members of the party.
According to the constitution, there should be a minimum of 50 percent support of the MPs and executive members to claim or split a party.
The Yadav faction had kept all its executive members at the Godawari Resort since Sunday.
The Yadav faction, after proving a majority before the Election Commission, is likely to get official recognition.
