Kathmandu, 23 July: Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand has said that the government is preparing for immediately supplying food supplies and medicine to Manang district via air. Relief support of the first phase is being airlifted as the district has been disconnected by road due to floods and landslides. Speaking at the meeting of the House Representatives, State Affairs and Good Governance Committee today, Minister Khand said the priority of the present government is to protect the lives of the people.
The Ministry is working to ease the life of people at risk of monsoon-induced disaster. Almost 54 kilometer of road in Manang district is reported to have been damaged by floods and landslides.
