Kathmandu, 17 July: As continuous rainfall over the last few days has affected normal lives in several places across the country, the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology said that monsoon would be more active from today. Issuing a weather bulletin on Friday, light to moderate rain has been forecast at most of the places of the country as there was a possibility of the development of the monsoon low pressure system near Tarai region from Saturday to Monday as well as the moisture-laden wind from the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea.
Similarly, some places of Sudurpaschim, Karnali and Lumbini provinces as well as some places of the remaining provinces will witness heavy rainfall. The Department has urged all to adopt necessary precautions as there is a risk of landslide in hilly areas and flood at Tarai areas.
