The CPN-UML task force formed to suggest ways to resolve the intra-party disputes had prepared and endorsed a 10-point proposal to maintain unity in the party.
After holding a marathon meeting lasting for seven days, the taskforce members endorsed the proposal late in the night on Sunday.
The taskforce members close to both factions led by party chairman KP Sharma Oli and senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal jointly announced the proposals of agreement.
However, the proposal is yet to be inked by party chairman Oli and senior leader Nepal.
Meetings of the central and standing committee called to approve and ink the agreement by Oli and Nepal have been deferred for an indefinite period.
The taskforce has agreed to resurrect the party as it was before May 16, 2018, before the unification of CPN-UML and the Maoist Centre.
Regarding the case on House dissolution in the Supreme Court, the taskforce had decided to reach a lawful institutional conclusion based on the spirit of party unity.
Of course, the agreement was reached to influence the SC Court, but after the court gave a verdict against Oli, he is not willing to endorse the proposals.
A Standing Committee meeting scheduled for Monday to endorse the proposal was postponed for Tuesday, which was further deferred on Tuesday.
