Nepal was hit badly by the floods and landslides at the beginning of the monsoon season this year.
By now, at least 39 persons were killed in the rain-induced disasters since the monsoon entered Nepal on June 11. Likewise, 31 persons went missing and 46 sustained injuries in the floods and landslides.
Briefing the Upper House about the destruction caused by landslides and floods on Sunday, Home Minister BishnuPaudel said that 22 districts, including Sindhupalchowk, Gorkha, Chitwan and Tanhun were affected worst by the rain-induced disasters.
In 226 disasters, 505 houses were completely destroyed and 112 partially. Likewise, 200 houses got inundated. Similarly, 36 government offices, nine school buildings, 15 concrete bridges and 23 suspension bridges were damaged. Likewise, 25 hydropower projects and 43 drinking water projects were destroyed. Similarly, several roads were obstructed by landslides across the country.
