Kathmandu, 3 July: The CPN-UML senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal held a telephone conversation with party Chairman Khadga Oli and told him that the 23 former lawmakers will not withdraw their signatures . Leader Nepal told Oli that leaders close to him had decided not to withdraw their support to opposition leader Sher Bahadur Deuba, according to reports.
Meanwhile, the Central Committee (CC) meeting has proposed to finalize the process of party membership renewal by mid-July. At the CC meeting today, UML General Secretary Ishwar Pokharel presented an organizational report and proposed to renew the party membership and submit it to the party central office by July 20. General Secretary Pokharel said that the national general convention of the party should be conducted by April 2022 as per the party statute.
