
Kathmandu, 3 July: Finally, the government has inked a deal with the Beijing-based Sinopharm Company to procure Covid-19 vaccine- Vero Cell, without disclosing the price and quantity.
Issuing a press statement on Friday, the Ministry of Health and Population stated the first consignment of the vaccine will arrive in Nepal on July 8. “The remaining consignment of the jabs will arrive in the country in the following weeks as preparations are being made for supplies accordingly in a phase-wise manner,” reads the statement.

It may be noted that the government had earlier announced of procuring four million vaccines from China. Even though the government has already paid for vaccines, the Serum Institute of India refused to supply Covishield vaccines to Nepal.
