Kathmandu, 3 July: Nepali Congress president Sher Bahadur Deuba, who has announced his wish to repeat as the party president for the next term, is holding a gathering of his confidants in the party at his residence in Budhanilkantha.
The meeting started in the morning is continued.
Party’s senior leaders Bimalendra Nidhi, Bijayakumar Gachhedar, Purna Bahadur Khadka, among others are in consultation at the meeting.
Deuba is under pressure from his faction to adjust Nidhi, who has also expressed the desire to contest the election to the post of the party president challenging Deuba.
The party is yet to resolve the active membership dispute in the party.
