Kathmandu, 2July: As the party is gearing up for its 14th national convention, which is long overdue, the meeting of the office-bearers of the Nepali Congress (NC) that had been deferred on Thursday is taking place this afternoon.
The meeting will dwell on forging a consensus in the top level regarding the criteria about the active membership and settle the matter, according to NC Central Office Chief-Secretary Krishna Prasad Poudel. The meeting will be attended by office-bearers, former office-bearers, and members of the active membership investigation committee. The Committee said that there are over 830,000 active members in the party.
Meanwhile, the NC has condemned the act of the Kathmandu Metropolitan City to erase the mural painted in a wall in Ratnapark in which highest regard was expressed for the frontline workers during the ongoing Covid-19.
