Kathmandu, 1 July: The 10th national General Convention Organizing Committee (GCOC)meeting of the ruling CPN-UML has dissolved the GCOC to revive the erstwhile Central Committee. The meeting chaired by the party Chair Khadga Oli decided to address the demand from the dissenting faction of the party. As a result, the action taken against the dissenting leaders including Madhav Kumar Nepal has been nullified.
The meeting decided to include Ram Bahadur Thapa “Badal”, Lekhraj Bhatta, Top Bahadur Rayamajhi, Mani Chandra Thapa, Raghubir Mahaseth, Raghuji Panta, Bishnu Rimal and Beduram Bhusal in the party’s Standing Committee.
The committee meeting has also decided to convene the meeting of the central committee prior to the unification with CPN (Maoist Centre) for July 2. The GCOC was formed by the central committee meeting held after the CPN-UML was revived by a Supreme Court order on March 12.
