Former King cancels birthday celebration

Kathmandu, 1 July: Former King Gyanendra has cancelled his formal birthday celebration on 23 Asar (7 July).

The former King has stated that as the nation is passing through a difficult period due to the natural calamities, Covid-19 pandemic havoc and political chaos, he has decided not to observe the birthday ceremony with fanfare.

Nepali people have become desperate from the prolonged political chaos, aggressive slogans and faulty premises given by the political leaders but failed in fulfilling their commitments, the former King has criticised the wrong performance of the political leaders.

People are facing trouble and they have been desperate from the irresponsible actions of the political leaders intended to finishing own values, assumptions and co-existence, the former King has remarked.

People have become fade up as they have failed to receive the Covid-vaccine. In the meantime, they are facing a difficult time due to natural calamities, he said.

“Considering the trouble faced by the Nepali people, we have decided to cancel observing our birthday by organizing different events this year”, the former King has stated.

The former King has extended thanks to all the Nepalis within the country and abroad for their goodwill and best wishes for the monarch.

The former King has also cited that the Royal Couple too had to suffer from the epidemic, nevertheless, from the dutiful treatment provided by the health workers, good wishes of the well-wishers, they have been recovering their health.
