Kathmandu, 17 May: The country has gradually started registering a downward trend in the total number of infections and an upward trend of recoveries.
Nepal reported 7,368 new cases with a slight decline in test positivity rate, on Sunday and recorded 6,648 recoveries despite Covid fatalities continue to stay above 100. On Saturday, 5,455 patients were discharged form various hospitals and health facilities across the country. On Friday, Nepal recorded 6,135 recoveries. As of Sunday, the total number of recoveries stands at 339,756.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population, the daily caseload dropped to less than 8,000 for the first time in 11 days on Sunday.
