Kathmandu, 15 May: After the Mahantha Thakur faction elected Rajendra Mahato as the leader of the parliamentarian party, dispute in the Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) has intensified. The Upendra Yadav and Baburam Bhattarai faction in the party has called the meeting of the central executive committee today to discuss the one-sided decision taken by the Thakur faction.
It is expected that the meeting may decide for taking action against Thakur and Mahato on the issue of the election of the parliamentarian party leader and Thakur faction’s non-cooperation on the formation of an alternative government toppling down the Oli led government.
The Yadav-Bhattarai faction has claimed it holds a majority in the 52-member central executive committee and parliamentarian party as well. The present dispute may lead the party towards a split.
