Kathmandu, 13 May: As the deadline given by President Bidya Devi Bhandari to form majority government as per Article 76(2) of the Constitution expires at nine tonight and intense exercise to unite the disgruntled faction within the ruling CPN-UML, the Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) Chairman Mahantha Thakur and senior leader Rajendra Mahato have held parleys with Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba at his residence this morning.
The meeting with NC President by JSP leaders Thakur and Mahato, who had been opposing Deuba in his bid to form a coalition government with the backing of the JSP and CPN Maoist Center is indicative of power sharing with the alliance led by Deuba.
With revocation of action against four prominent leaders of the ruling CPN-UML, party Chair Khadga Oli has also signaled to address the demands of his rivals within the party and stake claim of forming a new government.
