Kathmandu, 11 May: President Bidhya Devi Bhandari has called a Member of Parliament (MP) for claiming premiership with the support of two or more than two political parties by Thursday,13 May.
Issuing a press statement after receiving an official letter from the Speaker of the House of Representative (HoR) Agni Prasad Sapkota that Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli could not garner a vote of confidence from the HoR the President Keshav Prasad Ghimire said that President Bhandari has given the deadline of 9:00 pm on Thursday for furnishing the claim by an MP for the appointment as the Prime Minister with the backing of two or more than two political parties as per the Article 76 (2) of the Constitution of Nepal.
Earlier in the evening, the President of Nepali Congress Sher Bahadur Deuba, CPN Maoist Center Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Chairman of the Janata Samajbadi Party Nepal Upendra Yadav issuing a joint statement had urged the president to initiate the process of forming new government as per the Article 76(2) of the Constitution of Nepal.
