Kathmandu, 10 March : As the time of ultimatum passed awhile ago, the disgruntled leaders of the ruling CPN-UML have gathered for an emergency meeting in the Parliament Secretariat premises Singhadurbar to devise further strategy to unseat Khadga Oli from the office of country’s top executive.
On Sunday Oli deputed Bishnu Poudel and Subas Nembang as his emissaries to convince the dissident faction led by Madhav Kumar Nepal and Jhalanath Khanal to aid Oli in his bid to garner a vote of confidence at the parliament, leader Nepal remained adamant to the faction’s position and gave Oli an ultimate to correct himself as well as withdraw all unilateral decisions of March 12 within 13 hours. Oli failed to address the demands of the dissident faction.
The faction will decide whether to cross the floor, abstain or tender resignation en masse. According to lawmaker Metmani Chaudhary, the group will tender resignation after the meeting.
