Kathmandu, 7 May: At a time when the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic has created a health hazard in the country, the political leaders are engaged in power politics.
UML chairman and Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli and senior leader Madhav Nepal are under pressure from the second generation leaders for not splitting the party.
Madhav Nepal is closed to Maoist Center chairman Pushpakamal Dahal Prachanda and developing different strategies to isolate and topple down PM Oli’s government.
Nepal and Prachanda are jointly developing strategies to topple down Oli led UML government. They are in talks with NC president Sher Bahadur Deuba and JSP’s Upendra Yadav for developing a joint front against Oli.
Nepal is planning to file a no-confidence motion earlier to Oli’s move seeking a confidence motion.
The Madhav Nepal faction in the UML is even developing a strategy of submitting resignation of the MPs in mass earlier to Oli will go for confidence motion on 10 May.
Meanwhile, second-generation leaders Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel, Surendra Pandey, Gokarna Bista have held different rounds of meetings to save the party from a formal split.
They have suggested Oli for taking back the decision of party action against Madhav Nepal, Bhim Rawal, Surendra Pandey and Ghanashyam Bhushal as an initiative to save the party from a split.
In the meantime, President Bidya Devi Bhandari held meetings with PM Oli and Madhav Nepal to save the party from a split.
